Congratulations to the
2024 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
On behalf of the EvUCC Scholarship Committee, we would like to extend our congratulations to Easton Belford, Kaden Loyet, and Kaylen Rivas on being selected to receive the Evangelical United Church of Christ Scholarship Award for May 2024. Scholarships are given based on the recipient’s commitment to Christian service in the church, as well as their stewardship of their gifts and talents in school and the community. These three applications truly exemplified the criteria necessary to receive the respective scholarship. We will be praying for Easton, Kaden, and Kaylen as they begin the next chapter in their lives.
Easton is planning to attend the University of Kansas this fall to pursue a career in the field of pre-med. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in biology, he would like to further his education by receiving a PA towards becoming a Physician’s Assistant particularly in the pediatric field. He has a great rapport with kids, and would like to use that skill to make them feel at ease while they are dealing with health challenges. He said, “If a child is having a rough day or is not feeling well, I want to be someone that can help make their day a little better.”
Kaden is planning to attend Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington this fall to pursue a career in the field of pre-med. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, he would like to further his education by receiving a MD towards his goal in becoming an anesthesiologist specializing in anesthesia care, pain management, and critical care medicine.
Kaylen is planning to attend Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville this fall to obtain a Bachelor’s of Science degree in the nursing program. She would also like to minor in dance while she is a part of the SIU-E Competitive Dance Team. She is looking forward to pursuing a career in helping others while challenging herself along the way.
