This is an amazing way to engage young hearts and minds in a faith-filled environment! It’s wonderful that our faith community provides this special space for children aged 3 to 10.
Kid’s Church happens the first Sunday of every month – June – August.
Let’s break down the highlights:
- Purpose: Kids Church serves as a bridge between the family worship experience and age-appropriate learning. It allows children to participate in a way that resonates with their developmental stage.
- Activities and Learning:
- Songs: Singing songs together fosters a sense of community and helps kids remember important messages.
- Scripture Lessons: Exploring the day’s scripture in an interactive and engaging manner helps children connect with God’s Word.
- Prayer: Teaching kids to pray and encouraging them to communicate with God is a beautiful foundation for their faith journey.
- Timing and Transition:
- Kids start with their families during the 9am worship service, experiencing the rhythms of the larger congregation.
- Following the Children’s Chat (around 15-20 minutes into worship), they transition to Kids Church.
- Afterward, parents can pick up their children from the Memorial Chapel or have them head directly to Sunday School (from 10am to 11am).
- Volunteers: The dedicated volunteers who guide the children play a crucial role. They create a safe, nurturing space where kids can learn, grow, and feel God’s love.
Remember, these early experiences shape a child’s understanding of faith and community. Kudos to our faith community for investing in the spiritual development of its youngest members!
